Contract Type: Permanent

We are currently seeking an Operational Support Officer to work in Community Protection providing administrative support to the Service.

Primarily you will be supporting Community Safety and Trading Standards, but at times you will expect to provide support to the other teams including Environmental Health and Licensing when required.

You will have excellent organisational and communication skills with good attention to detail as you will be required to deal with incoming, and outgoing correspondence dealt with by the teams, along with organising meetings and subsequent minute taking. In addition, you will also need to transcribe recorded interviews under caution, that may then be progressed to court for further action. Excellent ICT skills with all Microsoft packages is therefore essential. This is a part time position with days worked to be agreed on commencement of employment. However, on occasions we require a flexible approach to days worked dependant on the needs of the Service.

The work that the teams carry out is sensitive and confidential and at times there may be strict timelines so an ability to work under pressure is necessary along with being able to work as part of a team.  You will need to deal with members of the public including businesses and other agencies.

The work carried out by the teams is varied and interesting, so if this sounds like the role for you, we look forward to receiving your application.

For further information or an informal discussion, please contact Cameron Baxter at 01983 821000.
