The role
We are looking for an experienced carer with an enthusiasm for providing services to adults with learning disabilities to join our team at our bright and cheerful registered care home in Ryde, Isle of Wight here at Southern Housing!
This is a part time, permanent role working 20 hours per week on a rota basis (including weekends and sleep-ins).
As a Learning Disability Worker, you’ll have a hands-on approach to caring for our vulnerable residents, working as part of a team to help our residents gain more independence and have better opportunities to get involved within the local community. This is a truly rewarding role where you’ll play many parts within our residents’ lives.
What you'll have:
- Hold 5 GCSE passes at grade “C” or above/ Grade 9-5 (or equivalent) inc Maths & English
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively
- Good written communication and numeracy skills
- Basic IT skills
- Able to work both as part of a team and also unsupervised
