Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic will join a small team within our Facilities and Maintenance department, who are responsible for executing work activities associated with manufacturing production including planned maintenance, reactive breakdown, response/ repairs and work requests across a 24/5 shift pattern at site, executing a varied range of activities that protect the Cowes site and ensure capability for manufacturing teams to perform their duties and limit any production stoppages at the Cowes site

Job Responsibilities

  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance and checks.
  • Responding to breakdowns and diagnostic faults.
  • Finding and repair of equipment/faults.
  • Supervising engineering and technical staff.
  • Obtaining specialist components, fixtures or fittings.
  • Installing pipework, valves, pumps and motors.
  • Replacement of worn parts, resetting instrument controls and cleaning of machinery.
  • Ad hoc general maintenance roles as required.  

Job Qualifications

 Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:  
  • Previous experience in a similar role, in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
  • Educated to min Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (or similar)
  • Strong customer service skills and a team player mind set.
  • Awareness of relevant HSE standards and able to work strictly to these.
  • Friendly, approachable, and helpful attitude.
  • Very high standards of work with continuous improvement mind set.
  • Able to multitask when required.
  • Any experience of more general facilities maintenance would be advantageous (e.g. plumbing, carpentry, etc.)
