Living Larder is the Isle of Wight’s only organic vegetable producer. We grow and sell a wide range of fruit and vegetables from our 12acre market garden in Apse Heath. We supply the public directly via our veg box scheme and online shop.
We currently have a full time vacancy for someone to join our ‘field team’.
Whilst experience is not essential, an interest in growing and the outdoors plus an understanding of physical work and a ‘can do’ attitude is.
The successful candidate is expected to have a good attention to detail and a willingness to take responsibility within a team. A clean driver’s licence would be advantageous as we are keen to extend the role to include occasional holiday cover for our drivers and light tractor work around the farm.
The work is physically demanding but rewarding, with variety taking place across the seasons. You will be expected to work on your own and as part of our small and successful team. This is a full time role based around a 40hr working week with the possibility of reduced hours in winter by agreement.
Living Larder is a family business, focused on treating each other with respect and rewarding hard work. The role being advertised is for a central position that covers both farm work and assistance to our delivery team.
Full guidance will be provided. Tasks include but are not limited to; planting, picking, crop maintenance and weeding, care of equipment and field maintenance, general landscape maintenance duties, occasional driving and packing.
