We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Head of Finance to lead our finance function and play a key role in driving the continued success of Captiva Homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, analysing and reporting financial information to the company directors to support strategic decision-making, manage costs, and improve profitability and cashflow across the business.
They will oversee all aspects of financial management, ensuring robust processes are in place, compliance requirements are met, and the company’s financial performance is effectively monitored and communicated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyse and report accurate financial information to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Develop, manage and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Prepare and present timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cashflow forecasts.
- Monitor and control company expenditure to ensure financial targets are achieved.
- Identify financial risks and potential impacts, developing strategies to mitigate these effectively.
- Provide financial guidance and support to all departments to promote sound financial management across the business.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls, systems, and procedures.
- Oversee the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders as required.
- Contribute to strategic planning by providing insight into business performance, opportunities, and risks.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a senior finance role.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Commercially astute, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Experience working within the property or construction sector is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all departments.
