About Us

Sage Coffee House is an independent, family-founded café overlooking The Green in St Helens. Built on connection, quality and community, Sage has quickly become a valued local hub. We are known for our speciality coffee, fresh brunch menu and homemade bakes — with a warm atmosphere and high standards at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable Front of House team member with barista experience to join our team.

The Role

This is a hands-on café position combining customer service and coffee-making responsibilities. You will play a key part in creating the welcoming atmosphere Sage is known for while delivering consistent, high-quality drinks and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving speciality coffee and hot drinks to a consistent standard
• Providing warm, attentive customer service
• Taking orders and operating the till confidently
• Supporting smooth service during busy periods
• Maintaining cleanliness and presentation across front of house
• Assisting with restocking, opening and closing duties
• Working collaboratively with the kitchen and wider team

Requirements

• Previous front of house and barista experience (essential)
• Confident using a coffee machine and dialling in shots
• Friendly, approachable and customer-focused
• Calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• A team player with high personal standards

Working Hours

We are open:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Closed Tuesdays

Shifts will typically be:

8:00am – 4:00pm or 9:00am – 3:00pm

Both part-time and full-time hours will be considered for the right candidate.

Salary

Paid in line with National Minimum / National Living Wage, dependent on age.
