The Royal Ocean Racing Club is currently going through a multi-million pound re-build and will be re-opening later this Spring, in time for a busy Summer.

 

Located in Cowes, the Club enjoys spectacular views across the Solent and the new restaurant will provide members and guests a selection of vibrant dishes and cuisines to sample throughout the year. The Clubhouse also acts as a venue for corporate and private functions, birthday parties and weddings.

 
 
We’re looking for a real night owl to be our Night Porter. 
 
As a Night Porter, you will become a vital part of our nights team providing the warmest of welcomes and exceptional customer service. 
 
You will ultimately be responsible for the safety and security of our guests as they sleep and will need to be able to react to their needs working on you own initiative. 
 
 Your day to day:
 
  • Checking in late arrivals
  • Provide a limited bar service for guests, including teas and coffees
  • Cleaning the property and setting up meeting /conference rooms
  • Ensuring the building and guests are secure
  • Helping set up the dining area for breakfast
  • Stack chairs in Events space, Restaurant and Bar area to vacuum/clean floors and then unstack when completed
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required
 
Who are we looking for? 
 
Our Night Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the Clubhouse, you will need to be a responsible and reliable person. 
 
We are looking for a hard-working individual who doesn’t mind being a night owl. 
 
You will be able to stay calm under pressure, taking any complications in your stride. 
 
Effortlessly deal with problems as they arise and ensure standards are maintained at all times. You will need excellent communication skills and be confident to make the right decision.
 
If you are self-motivated and can multi-task this could be for you. 
 
Personality is what counts and whilst previous experience and basic computer skills are an advantage, full training is provided.

The RORC Cowes Clubhouse enjoys a prime elevated site at the entrance to Cowes waterfront. It has a friendly bar and a beautiful terrace area in front of the Clubhouse with panoramic views of the Solent. The Clubhouse provides a variety of dining opportunities from intimate exclusivity for up to twelve in the Captain's Room, with the ability to cater for functions of up to 160 in the dining area, and more in the Summer with our Summer Marquees!
