Job Start Date: ASAP
WRS is looking for an enthusiastic, practical and motivated Installations Engineer to join our growing Installations Team.
WRS is a leading provider of EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) solutions, helping businesses streamline their operations, improve customer service and increase efficiency. We provide innovative EPOS software and hardware solutions to businesses across the UK, particularly within the hospitality, retail and leisure sectors.
Our customers range from independent coffee shops to large holiday parks and multi-site businesses, meaning no two installations are the same.
The Role
As an Installations Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing and setting up EPOS hardware at customer locations across the UK, ensuring each installation is completed professionally and to a high standard.
You'll work across a variety of environments, from established customer sites to brand-new locations that are still under construction. You'll often work alongside customers, contractors and other trades, so you'll need to be confident working within construction environments as well as customer-facing settings.
Our head office is based in Newport, Isle of Wight. When you're not travelling to customer sites, you'll work within our Workshop preparing, building, testing and packing hardware ready for upcoming installations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Installing and setting up EPOS hardware at customer sites across the UK
- Ensuring installations are completed safely, professionally and to the required standard
- Preparing, building, testing and packing hardware ahead of installations
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware and technical issues on site
- Using hand and power tools as part of installation work
- Working within active construction and customer environments
- Liaising with customers, contractors and other members of the WRS team
- Representing WRS professionally when working at customer locations
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who already has a strong practical or technical foundation.
To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience in at least one of the following areas:
- EPOS installation and hardware
- Electrical work or electrical installations
- Computer networking and network installations
Experience in more than one of these areas would be advantageous but isn't essential. We'll provide training to help you build on your existing skills and develop your knowledge of WRS systems and installation processes.
You'll also need to:
- Be mechanically minded and confident with hands-on practical work
- Be comfortable using hand and power tools
- Have strong problem-solving skills
- Be confident working independently and as part of a team
- Have good communication and customer service skills
- Be comfortable working within construction environments
- Be willing to undertake regular UK travel and overnight stays
- Hold a full, clean UK driving licence
Travel & Training
This is a UK-wide role, so regular travel and overnight stays are an essential part of the position.
WRS will provide a weekly schedule of work and arrange the necessary travel and accommodation.
We will also provide relevant training and qualifications for site safety and further technical training where required.
A DBS check will be carried out as part of the role to ensure suitability for working within public and customer environments.
Benefits
As part of the WRS team, you'll have access to:
- Private healthcare plan
- Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Collaborative and supportive working environment
- Employee savings plans
- Staff parties and company events
- Long-service leave
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Isle of Wight Lottery benefits
Interested?
If you're practical, technically minded and enjoy working in different environments, this could be a great opportunity to develop your career with WRS.
This isn't a desk-based technical role. You'll be out on the road, working directly with customers and playing an important part in getting their sites ready to operate.
If you have experience in EPOS installations, electrical work or computer networking, we'd love to hear from you.
