We are seeking 2 very reliable and cool-headed Hotel Night Porters to work overnight 2 or 3 nights a week.

Fixed term  |  Start soon.

 Contract end 31^st January 2027.

 These roles offer secure and regular hours overnight for a fixed term.

 Hours will either be 8am – 8pm or 10pm – 8am.

 The ideal candidates will ensure the safety, security, and comfort of our guests overnight while maintaining the smooth operation of the hotel during night shifts.

 You need to be a people person and have a keen eye detail.

 You need to be calm and unflappable in unknown and random scenarios.

 Work will either be at the Sandringham Hotel in Sandown and / or at Calverts Hotel in Newport.

Overtime available in Ryde from time to time.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:-

·         Welcoming and assisting guests arriving or departing during night hours, offering a warm and professional service at all times

·         Assisting with guest luggage when required or asked

·         Responding promptly to guest requests or issues and providing on the spot solutions

·         Conducting regular floor walks, building patrols and security checks

·         Performing light cleaning duties

·         Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the reception, public toilets and public spaces during the night shift

·         Preparing the dining room for breakfast service and assisting with early breakfasts if required

·         Ensuring a thorough handover to the morning team

·         Responding to emergency situations and false alarms, acting as incident controller and first responder to the emergency services if required

·         Keeping records of all relevant incidents or irregularities

·         Assisting with administrative tasks such as logging arrivals, departures, and other relevant documentation

·         Handling incoming calls overnight

Skills & Requirements

·         Applicants must be aged 21+

·         Applicants must have a full clean driving license

·         Ideally you will have had some previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment, although this is not entirely essential, providing you are good with people and are able to stay awake when the rest of the world is sleeping

·         The ability to remain calm under pressure during busy or challenging situations is an absolute must

·         You need to be a quick thinker and a problem solver

·         You must have excellent communication skills and have a strong interpersonal etiquette
