About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Administrator to join our busy finance team at our Head Office in Sandown, Isle of Wight. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will ensure our accounts processes run smoothly and efficiently.
While the role is primarily focused (95%+) on Top Mops accounts administration, you will also provide support to our group’s associated businesses, including a minibus company, events cleaning company, and courier business.
This is a varied position that requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to communicate confidently with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
Full training in the role will be given by the Finance Director, role would suit someone who has some experience in a similar role and looking to take on a full varied role in Accounts / Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Administration
- Payroll – fortnightly & monthly processing
- Pension administration
- Supplier and subcontractor payments
- Direct Debit collections and processing
- Invoicing – ad hoc, weekly, 4-weekly, monthly, and supplies
- Credit control
- Bank reconciliations
- VAT returns
- Processing invoices into Dext & Xero
- Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and staff
- Month-end and year-end projects, reconciliations
Additional Responsibilities
- Supporting processes for the minibus, events cleaning, and courier companies, admin / accounts
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Answering phone calls, emails, and finance queries
General Office Support
- Assisting with administration
- Assisting with supplies ordering (cover)
- Supporting surveys (e.g., ONS returns)
- Assisting with staff onboarding/offboarding processes
What We’re Looking For
- Hold an AAT qualification, be working towards one or have at least one year’s experience in an accounts administration role
- A good working knowledge and understanding of Excel
- Experience with Xero (Advantageous)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
