Shape the Future of Our Students as Our New Careers and Futures Leader!

Are you passionate about unlocking the potential of young people and guiding them toward lifelong success?

Medina College and The Island VI Form are seeking a visionary, qualified Careers and Futures Leader to pioneer a transformative strategy that will redefine our students' futures. This is more than just a role; it is a vital pillar in the future of our school. By designing and implementing a world-class programme that masters all eight Gatsby benchmarks of good practice, you will be the driving force that prepares our students for crucial, life-defining transitions into education, training, and employment.

Join a Community That Champions Transformation

We are incredibly proud members of the HISP Multi Academy Trust - a forward-thinking, vibrant educational community dedicated to providing courageous, transformative education for all. We celebrate diversity and champion inclusion at every level. Our vision is bold and clear: to create supportive, dynamic environments that tear down barriers to education and empower every single individual to thrive.

Your Impact: Inspiring the Next Generation

As our Careers and Futures Leader, you will be at the very heart of our mission to prepare students for the modern world. In this role, every interaction is an opportunity to shape a life. The successful candidate will:

  • Ignite Ambition: Provide dynamic, consistent, equitable, and highly motivational instruction. You will ensure that students are deeply and actively engaged with career-focused activities and learning processes throughout their journey with us.

  • Connect Character to Success: Take an active role in futures development by clearly explaining and discussing with students the crucial links between everyday respect, a strong work ethic, and their ultimate future prospects.

  • Shape Mindsets: Leverage every single interaction within the school community to engage students in understanding the powerful connection between their daily choices and long-term consequences.

  • Drive Positive Daily Habits: Support the smooth, purposeful running of the school environment by using the start of lessons to actively engage and focus students as they transition to their learning.

  • Embody Our Ethos: Be a living example of the Medina College core values of Ambition, Courage, Confidence, and Kindness.

  • Uphold Trust Ideals: Actively support and drive the HISP Trust values of Courage, Ambition, Excellence, Sustainability, Equity, and always putting Pupils First.

  • Protect and Nurture: Collaborate closely with all colleagues to maintain a robust safeguarding environment, keeping the safety and holistic wellbeing of our students at the absolute forefront of your work.

Where You Will Make Your Mark

Our community spans two fantastic sites - the 11-16 site on the outskirts of Newport and the post-16 site, The Island VI Form, in the town centre. You will have the unique opportunity to reach students during their most formative years, capturing their imaginations early and setting them on a confident path toward their futures.

Are you ready to build a legacy and inspire the workforce of tomorrow?

Join us, and help our students discover what they are truly capable of.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices also reflect this commitment. Online searches and references will be taken up for those candidates short-listed for interview.
