Share your experience. Shape the future of childcare.

Are you an experienced childcare or Early Years professional looking for a new challenge on the Isle of Wight? Isle of Wight College is looking for a Childcare Lecturer to join our team and help prepare the next generation of childcare professionals.

This is an opportunity to take the knowledge, skills and experience you have gained in the sector and pass them on to those starting their own careers. Working with learners on our Level 1 and Level 2 Childcare programmes, you will help them develop the knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours they need to progress into the Early Years and Childcare sector.

You don't need to have spent your career in education. We are particularly interested in hearing from vocational professionals who know the sector and can bring authentic industry experience into the classroom.

You could be an experienced practitioner, room leader, manager or other childcare professional who is ready to use your experience in a different way. You know the sector. You know what good practice looks like. Now you can help shape the people who will work in it.

As a lecturer, you will have the opportunity to:

Share your professional knowledge and experience with future childcare practitioners.

Help young people understand what it is really like to work in the Early Years and Childcare sector.

Inspire learners and build their confidence as they take their first steps into the profession.

Develop the practical and professional skills that employers need.

Stay connected to the sector while developing your own career in education.

Make a direct contribution to the future childcare workforce on the Isle of Wight.

If you have the experience, knowledge and passion to support the next generation, we would love to hear from you.

What You Will Need

Level 2 qualification (GCSE grade A – C or equivalent) in English and Maths or willing to complete as part of probation

Degree/HND or equivalent vocational/professional qualification

An endorsed Teaching qualification or willing to work towards within 3 years
