LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT
Based at our main site in Newport and Studio, East Cowes
Salary – Hay Grade 3 – Hay Grade 7 - £17,835 - £22,962 per annum (actual)
Hours per week – Full-time, up to 33.75 hours per week (Monday – Friday),
term-time only (38 weeks)
As an LSA you will work with students at St George’s and within the community, and work towards implementing specific programs that enable us as a School to respond positively to our students.
St George’s and St George’s Studio support students with a range of challenges, including:
- Complex medical and behavioural challenges
- PMLD/ASC diagnosis
- SEMH needs
Working with and under the direction of the class teacher and senior LSAs, you will support the learning of the class through 1-2-1 and small group mentoring.
It is essential that applicants possess the following:
- Relevant experience of working with students/young people who have High Needs/SEND in a specialist area, such as SEMH, Medical, Autism, and complex challenging behaviour.
- The ability to demonstrate a high level of personal resilience
- An understanding of, and a willingness to hold safeguarding at the centre of their practice.
- A willingness to undertake/update any specialist training as
