Commercial Catering Engineer (COMCAT)

Isle of Wight
£30,000 – £40,000 depending on experience + overtime

Vectis Refrigeration provides refrigeration, air conditioning and facilities engineering services across the Isle of Wight. We support a wide range of hospitality venues, commercial kitchens, schools and leisure facilities across the island.

We are looking for a Commercial Catering Engineer (COMCAT) to join our growing engineering team.

This role involves servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial catering equipment across the island, working closely with our refrigeration engineers to support kitchen and food service environments.

Our engineers work locally across the Isle of Wight with no mainland travel.

The Role

The position includes service, maintenance and fault finding on a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment.

Typical work includes:

• Service and repair of commercial gas catering equipment
• Planned preventative maintenance of kitchen equipment
• Gas safety inspections and compliance checks
• Fault finding on electrical and mechanical catering equipment
• Support work on ice machines and refrigeration equipment where required
• Installation and commissioning of catering equipment

Equipment you may work on includes:

• Range cookers
• Deep fat fryers
• Chargrills
• Combi ovens
• Salamanders and grills
• Dishwashers and glasswashers
• Ice machines and kitchen refrigeration

Our engineers work across hospitality venues, schools, commercial kitchens and leisure facilities across the Isle of Wight.

Required Qualifications

• Gas Safe registered
• COMCAT qualifications (ideally COMCAT 1, 3 and 5)
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong fault finding ability
• Professional approach with clients

Beneficial Experience

• LPG commercial gas
• Electrical fault finding / 18th Edition
• Rational or combi oven servicing
• Warewashing equipment
• Experience working within commercial kitchens

Training can be provided where required for the right candidate.

Working Hours & Overtime

• Standard working week of 40 hours
• Overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours
• Double time paid on Sundays and Bank Holidays
• Engineers participate in a shared on call rota
• Additional overtime opportunities available
