Farmers Market Trader & Driver – Part-time – Immediate Start

Weekend work | Customer-facing role | Be the face of our brand

Are you excited by the idea of trying something new, spending your weekends at vibrant farmers markets, and connecting with customers over great homegrown produce? We’re looking for a Farmers Market Trader & Driver to join our team, taking our produce to well-established markets across London and the south.

At Isle of Wight Tomatoes, you’ll be part of our weekend market team, representing our brand at farmers markets across the mainland and delivering a great customer experience. This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible, part-time work, who enjoys working independently, interacting with customers, and being hands-on in a varied and active role.

What you’ll be doing

  • Representing Isle of Wight Tomatoes at vibrant and well-established farmers markets
  • Setting up, running, and packing down market stalls to a high standard
  • Engaging with customers, promoting and selling our tomato varieties and tomato-based products
  • Delivering excellent customer service and confidently sharing product knowledge (full training provided)
  • Handling cash and card transactions accurately
  • Merchandising stalls and replenishing stock throughout the day
  • Transporting produce and equipment to and from markets as required
  • Loading and unloading stock safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting any faults or repairs
  • Maintaining high standards of quality control, organisation, and health & safety
  • Taking a proactive approach and supporting the wider team as needed

What we’re looking for

  • A full, clean UK driving licence
  • Confidence driving in London and surrounding areas
  • Availability to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
  • Physically fit and comfortable with a hands-on, active role
  • Confident working independently and taking responsibility for your tasks
  • A friendly, engaging communicator who enjoys working with customers
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including overnight stays when required
  • Adaptable, reliable, and solution-focused, with a positive attitude

Working hours

  • Part-time role: Typical Market day approximately 12 hours, full market weekend 28 hours
  • Hours can vary based on assigned market runs. Work is mostly avaiable from April to September; however markets do run all year and work may be avaialble throughout if desired.
  • Full market weekend assignments typically run from Friday afternoon through to Sunday evening, other market assignments can be on a Saturday or Sunday. Work is agreed on a rota basis with a Casual Work Agreement.
  • Overnight stays may be required to accommodate early starts
