There is no other job like working in Electrical Wholesale, especially working for Electric Center, which is part of Edmundson Electrical, the UK’s biggest and most successful electrical wholesaler.
It’s an extremely rewarding and long career for those hard working and self-motivated people, but don’t be fooled, it’s not easy, and in a small team that all work extremely hard, if you don’t have the strong work ethic required, you’ll stick out like a sore thumb!
In this industry more than any other, people deal with people, so you need to be a people person, potential customers need to gravitate towards you, because they like you, you’re helpful, and above all, they trust the fact you’re looking after the enquires that will support their business, in an accurate and timely manner.
You’ll need to have a dynamic and friendly personality, whilst also having the hunger and drive to succeed, a good eye for detail is critical as you’ll be using part numbers that can sometimes be very similar, to keep our stock accurate, items need to be booked in and out correctly, in busy periods you’ll be multi-tasking, so being able to cope with workloads by writing things down is important.
As part of the role, you’ll be answering the phone and dealing with enquiries, as well as being on the trade counter, where you’ll be serving a wide range of different customers, some regular trade customers, some retail first time visitors, in this business, first impressions are everything, so helping to keep the trade counter clean and fully stocked is key.
When picking orders, some of the items can be heavy, you’ll also be required to cut large, armoured cable, so you need to be physically fit for this position!
Our business is built on delivering an outstanding customer service, so a positive attitude where we can’t do enough for our customers is the number one priority, ensuring our customers are fully aware of both positive and negative situations with their orders.
You’ll begin with a small number of existing accounts, where you’ll be expected to contact all of them each month, but you’ll also be expected to grow this list yourself by opening new trade accounts, so having the confidence to pick up the phone and create conversations with potential new customers is also another important requirement.
We have processes in place to ensure that mistakes are minimal, so you will need to always abide by these, this is non-negotiable.

Full training will be given via online training modules, and uniform will also be provided.
Experience would clearly be preferred but attitude is more important.

A Full UK Driving Licence is required, should you be needed to cover the delivery van if the usual driver is away, please note this is a long wheel based Mercedes sprinter.
Before an interview can take place, if your CV is what we're looking for, you'll be required to complete a couple of small online personality and attitude tests, which will take roughly 10 minutes, you'll need access to a computer or laptop as they're not mobile friendly.
Hours are 7:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.
25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.
