Permanent – 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (Term time only)

AP04 - £19,028.97 per annum

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Learning Resources Adviser to join our Learning Resource Centre (LRC) team.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will work closely with students and staff to support learning across the college. You will help students develop the skills they need to succeed; whether that’s finding and using information effectively, building digital confidence, or preparing for their next steps.

As part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to delivering high-quality LRC services while also taking a lead role in one specialist area, helping to coordinate and develop provision across the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working in partnership with teaching staff to ensure learning resources support curriculum delivery

Supporting students to develop independent learning, research and digital skills

Delivering inductions, training sessions and workshops (face-to-face and online)

Providing day-to-day support to students using the LRC, including help with systems, resources and study approaches

Promoting and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive and purposeful learning environment

Supporting the development and promotion of learning resources and digital platforms

Contributing to a high-quality, responsive LRC service

Specialist Focus Area

As part of the role, you will take lead responsibility for one of the specialist areas below, helping to coordinate and develop provision while working alongside colleagues who contribute to delivery.

Digital Literacy Skills

Supporting students to use digital tools and platforms effectively for learning.

Information Literacy & Academic Skills

Helping students develop research, referencing and academic study skills.

Progression Skills & Next Steps

Supporting students to prepare for employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

Library Services

Supporting learning through resource management and accurate metadata.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with learners or users in an educational or support setting

Can communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of students

Is confident delivering training, workshops or group sessions

Has strong digital skills and is comfortable using a range of technologies

Can support learners to develop confidence and independence

Works well both as part of a team and independently

Is organised, adaptable and able to manage a varied workload

Is committed to supporting all learners in an inclusive and supportive way
