About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Bank Cook/Chef to join our friendly care home team. Working on a flexible, as-needed basis, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents while ensuring the highest standards of food hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook balanced meals, snacks, and special dietary menus.
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation.
- Comply with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Care Home policies.
- Work closely with care staff to meet residents' dietary and nutritional needs.
- Ensure kitchen records and documentation are completed accurately.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Cook, Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or equivalent preferred).
- Understanding of special diets and nutritional needs of older people.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible and reliable with the ability to cover shifts at short notice.
