About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Bank Cook/Chef to join our friendly care home team. Working on a flexible, as-needed basis, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents while ensuring the highest standards of food hygiene and safety. 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook balanced meals, snacks, and special dietary menus.
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation.
• Comply with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Care Home policies.
• Work closely with care staff to meet residents' dietary and nutritional needs.
• Ensure kitchen records and documentation are completed accurately.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Cook, Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety regulations.
• Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or equivalent preferred).
• Understanding of special diets and nutritional needs of older people.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible and reliable with the ability to cover shifts at short notice.
