Part Time (24 hours - 4 days per week)

Eden House Residential Home, part of St Vincent Care Homes Ltd. have been offering care and support to the elderly for over 30 years and we pride ourselves on having an amazing team of staff with a great atmosphere, so you feel comfortable and happy coming to work each day. As we are a small home of maximum 20 residents, we really get to know our residents and always advocate for the best outcomes for them as they become our second family. We hold very high standards, and pride ourselves on ensuring our staff are highly trained and deeply caring so that they can provide the best possible care to our service users. A majority of our service users also live with dementia which means that every day brings a new experience for both our staff and our service users, and we support our residents through all of their dementia journey.

About the role

The current role we are looking for is for an Activities-Coordinator, for the hours of 10am-4pm for 4 days a week (total 24 hours), with a possible rota of (suggestion only - but with a view for alternating weekend days)

Week 1 - Mon, Thurs, Fri, Sat

Week 2 - Tues, Weds, Thurs, Sun

We are looking for a creative, compassionate and inspiring person that can provide high quality and fulfilling regular activities to our residents. You should have a passion for working with and assisting elderly people, as well as strong organisational skills. 

As an activities co-ordinator you will be developing and planning in house activities, games, outing and events, including liaising with outside organisations. Whilst it can come with it's challenges this can be a fun and rewarding position, learning what their interests and life stories are. This role requires someone who is full of creativity, positivity and motivation.

Occasionally, such as if there is a theme day or certain event planned, there might be an expectation to come in outside of your normal working hours but these would be discussed in advance.

About you

We are looking for applicants with experience arranging and participating in activities, preferably for the elderly and preferably with dementia experience as well.

Qualifications relating to Activities or Health and Social Care would be prererable. We are looking for a confident, self-starter individual who is capable of planning and organising activities and being capable of risk-assessing and adapating activities as needed for our residents. 

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate candidates, who pride themselves on providing good quality care and with a desire to improve their own continuing professional development and knowledge.

Basic IT knowledge such as being able to take and send photographs, emails, and create activity posters is required.

Succesful applicants will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Unfortunately we cannot offer sponsorship at this time.
