The Limes Residential Care Home – Bembridge, Isle of Wight
£13.45 per hour weekdays | £14.45 per hour weekends
Not all care homes are the same.
At The Limes, we genuinely believe that great care starts with great people.
For over 40 years, The Limes Residential Care Home has built a reputation for delivering compassionate, relationship-led care within a warm, welcoming and homely environment. We are proud to be rated GOOD overall by CQC, with an OUTSTANDING rating in Caring, reflecting the kindness, dignity and person-centred support at the heart of everything we do.
We are a family-run home where residents are truly known as individuals and where staff are valued, listened to and supported. We believe in creating a home filled with laughter, warmth, reassurance and meaningful moments—not simply completing a list of tasks.
Our focus is on helping residents maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life for as long as possible. Whether that means supporting someone with their personal care, helping them enjoy a favourite activity, encouraging independence or simply taking the time to sit and chat over a cup of tea, we believe the little things matter.
The Role
We are looking for a kind, compassionate and reliable Health Care Assistant to join our team.
Working under the guidance of a Senior Lead Care Assistant, you will support residents with their day-to-day care while promoting their dignity, independence, comfort and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting residents with personal care, dressing and continence needs
- Assisting with mobility and safe transfers
- Supporting residents at mealtimes
- Encouraging independence and meaningful engagement
- Spending time with residents and providing companionship and reassurance
- Observing residents’ wellbeing and reporting any concerns to the Senior Lead
- Following residents’ individual care plans
- Maintaining clear and accurate care records
- Helping to keep the home calm, welcoming and comfortable
- Working closely with colleagues to provide consistent, person-centred care
About You
Above all, we are looking for somebody who genuinely cares.
Ideally, you will hold an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care and have some experience of working within elderly care. However, we also welcome applications from people with the right values, attitude and willingness to learn.
Further NVQ qualifications are actively supported and encouraged as part of your ongoing professional development.
You should be patient, dependable and comfortable working as part of a team. You will understand that excellent care is about more than meeting physical needs—it is about knowing the person, respecting their choices and helping them feel safe, valued and at home.
We value people who:
- Treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect
- Take pride in delivering excellent care
- Are patient, attentive and compassionate
- Work well as part of a team
- Are reliable and dependable
- Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues
- Are willing to learn and develop
- Naturally go “Above & Beyond” for others
Why Join The Limes?
At The Limes, we know that caring for others starts with supporting our team.
In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer:
- £13.45 per hour weekday rate
- £14.45 per hour weekend rate
- Company pension scheme
- Blue Light Card access
- Access to the Simplyhealth Healthcare Programme
- Health & Wellbeing Grant of up to £100
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- Support to undertake further NVQ qualifications
