Are you someone with a warm heart, a knack for making a house a home and a passion for delicious food? Do you love to see people smile and enjoy a tidy, welcoming space? We're looking for a special person to join our team as a Housekeeper and Host in our wonderful dementia-friendly residential care home!
At Magnolia House, we believe in creating a supportive and happy environment for our residents. We understand that a clean, comfortable, and inviting home makes all the difference, especially for those living with dementia. We also believe that mealtimes are a highlight of the day. It's not just about the food (though that's important too!); it's about creating a joyful, comfortable, and engaging dining experience for our wonderful residents.
What you'll be doing:
- Making our home sparkle: You'll be responsible for keeping our residents' rooms and communal areas beautifully clean and fresh. Think of it as making a lovely home even lovelier!
- Being a friendly face: You'll be a warm and welcoming presence for our residents, sharing a smile, a kind word, and helping them feel comfortable and at ease.
- Creating a welcoming atmosphere: This isn't just about cleaning; it's about contributing to a peaceful and positive atmosphere where everyone feels safe and cared for.
- Supporting our residents: You'll understand the importance of patience, empathy, and a gentle approach when interacting with our residents living with dementia.
- Setting the scene: Preparing our dining areas to be welcoming and inviting, ensuring everything is just right.
- Serving with a smile: Bringing delicious meals and refreshing drinks to our residents, always with a kind word and a friendly face.
- Being a welcoming presence: Chatting with residents, understanding their preferences, and helping them feel comfortable and valued during mealtimes.
- Assisting with dietary needs: Learning about individual dietary requirements and ensuring everyone receives the right meal.
- Being a thoughtful companion: Understanding that for our residents living with dementia, patience, empathy, and a calm approach are key to a positive dining experience.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Caring and compassionate: You genuinely care about the well-being of others.
- Reliable and organised: You take pride in your work and can manage your time effectively.
- Friendly and approachable: You love interacting with people and have a positive attitude.
- Patient and understanding: Especially when working with individuals living with dementia.
- A team player: You'll be working alongside a fantastic team dedicated to our residents.
- A great communicator: You enjoy chatting with people and can listen attentively.
- Previous experienced is a bonus but not essential: If you've cleaned before and/or worked in hospitality, great! If not, and you have the right attitude, we're happy to train you.
Why choose Magnolia House?
- A truly rewarding role: Every day you'll make a real difference to someone's life.
- A supportive and friendly team: We're like a family here!
- Training and development opportunities: We believe in helping our team grow.
- A beautiful and welcoming environment: You'll be proud to work here.
If you're ready to bring your kindness and excellent housekeeping skills and/or your passion for food and your caring nature to a place where they truly matter, we'd love to hear from you!
We can't wait to meet you!
