Are you looking for a job that is so much more than just paying the bills? Where everything you do each day directly impacts the lives of others in positive and rewarding ways? Where you are challenged and where you matter to everyone around you?

Are you ready to make a difference to awesome individuals who need your support to live fulfilling, enriched and happy lives? Do not miss this opportunity to join our incredible care team at Plean Dene in Shanklin!

We need a positive, committed, and forward-thinking Senior Support Worker to join this authority-run home in Shanklin for adults with a learning disability and 'Behaviours that Challenge'.

At Plean Dene you’ll be surrounded by friendly and professional colleagues who make FUN the focus every day, supporting one another to enable residents to build their life skills as well as supporting the staff team and Registered Manager with the smooth running of the home.

Our support workers are kept busy each day with enriching activities and events designed to ensure that each day is the best it can be for the people living in our care. From picnics in the park, to parties in the dining room, sporting activities from golf to frisbee, cooking, gardening and so much more, there is always something fun happening at the Plean Dene and you can be a part of it.

The senior worker will be responsible for prioritising their work, from enriching people’s lives with activities, to completing tasks delegated to them by the manager.

Duties will also include some personal care, dressing, washing, toileting etc. Always with the focus on enabling and encouraging residents to independently achieve their goals.

To be a senior support worker you will need to be a strong communicator with a clear commitment to excellence and an obvious passion for working in a caring environment. You will need to build a strong relationship with the individuals you support, understanding their unique needs and pro-actively working to ensure the best quality of life. You will need to build strong relationships with the staff to ensure a smooth running of the home and effective support for the manager.

You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality service to the individuals, with a person-centred approach actively supporting and maximising independence and life experience.

It is important that our residents have access to a wide range of community activities, and we therefore welcome applications from people who can drive vehicles used by the residents in the home (although this is not essential).

Shift patterns will be a variation of the below:

  • 07:15 to 14:45
  • 14:30 to 22:00

When you join us, you'll be well supported with structured supervision, training, and plenty of development opportunities. PLUS, as a member of #TeamIWC you’ll also have access to the staff benefits and schemes.
