Night Care Assistant (Wakeful)

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Night Care Assistant to join our friendly team in our 25-bed residential care home. As a Wakeful Night Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our residents feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the night.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care and making a positive difference in the lives of older people.

About the Role

As a Night Care Assistant, you will:

  • Provide high-quality personal care and emotional support to residents during the night.

  • Carry out regular welfare checks and respond promptly to call bells.

  • Assist residents with toileting, mobility, repositioning, and other care needs.

  • Monitor residents' wellbeing and report any concerns or changes in condition.

  • Maintain accurate care records and complete clear handovers to the day team.

  • Promote residents' dignity, independence, privacy, and choice at all times.

  • Follow safeguarding, infection prevention, health and safety, and care home policies.

  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the night.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is caring, compassionate, and patient.

  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Is reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently.

  • Has previous care experience (preferred but not essential).

  • Holds, or is willing to work towards, a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

  • Is committed to delivering exceptional person-centred care.
