Youth Coach Opportunities – 16 & 36 Hours per Week

Island Youthways is seeking Youth Coaches to join our nurturing provision in Newport. We create a safe, supportive environment where vulnerable young people feel listened to and empowered to reach their full potential as they transition into adulthood.

Many of the young people we work with may have experienced trauma or face challenges such as emotional or mental health needs, or a history of offending. That’s why we’re looking for someone who is:

• Kind, caring, empathetic and compassionate
• Experienced in working with teenagers and genuinely enjoys supporting young people
• Self-motivated and able to inspire and motivate others
• Adaptable and committed to building positive, influential relationships
• A friendly team player with problem-solving skills
• Patient, positive and resilient
• A driver with access to a car and business insurance

About the Role

As a Youth Coach, you’ll work closely with young people to build strong relationships and help them develop essential life skills. This includes supporting them with:

• Education and employment opportunities
• Attending appointments
• Wellbeing and personal development
• Navigating the challenges of adult life

Hours & Shifts

We have part-time (16 hours) and full-time (36 hours) positions available. Shifts include evenings, weekends and sleep-ins, arranged on a two-week rota. Once agreed, your hours will be contracted and guaranteed.
