Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Transducer Technician to join our production team. This is a technically demanding, hands-on role involving the manufacture, assembly and wiring of precision load measurement transducers and electronic instrumentation. The successful candidate will work to exacting tolerances and detailed manufacturing documentation to produce high-accuracy, high-reliability sensors for critical applications.
This position can be offered on a part-time or full-time basis, depending on the candidate’s suitability and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assembly of strain-gauge-based load cells and force transducers
- Installation, wiring and termination of foil strain gauges using approved bonding, wiring and encapsulation techniques
- Precision soldering of fine-pitch and delicate electronic components to recognised industry standards
- Preparation, assembly and termination of screened cables, glands and industrial connectors
- Electro-mechanical assembly of signal conditioning electronics and associated instrumentation
- Working from engineering drawings, wiring schematics, parts lists, build instructions and technical specifications
- Compliance with manufacturing procedures, quality standards and full build traceability requirements
Technical Requirements
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to fine detail
- Strong understanding of precision electro-mechanical assembly techniques
- Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances and documented processes
- Effective communication skills and the ability to operate within a team-based production environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Experience / Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Transducer Technician, Electronics Technician, or in a similar precision manufacturing or instrumentation role
- Practical experience with strain gauges, load cells, sensor wiring, or fine electronic soldering is highly desirable
- Experience working within aerospace, marine, offshore, or other safety-critical manufacturing sectors is advantageous
- Candidates with strong transferable technical skills will be considered; full in-house training can be provided
