Logistics Technician - Rheinmetall Electronics UK Ltd

Rheinmetall Electronics UK (REUK) Ltd design and manufacture advanced electronics products and systems. The company operates internationally in the communications, defence, security and government services market, and is established as a world-leader in digital signal and video processing on embedded systems.

 The company is building upon the commercial success achieved to date, and now needs to appoint an enthusiastic individual to support the management of a rapidly growing inventory.

Responsibilities:

Goods receipt

  • Receipt of deliveries to site, including notification of deliveries to other departments.
  • Conduct inspection on inbound goods to ensure compliance to order requirements.
  • Produce accurate inspection records and feedback supplier performance to the procurement team.
  • Participate in the creation of detailed records describing any non-conforming items to facilitate effective communication, corrective action and preventative action.

Dispatch

  • Safe, effective packing of finished goods and other materials.
  • Preparation of dispatch data and collaboration with colleagues to arrange shipping.

Production Support

  • Generating ‘kit lists’ and picking items against works orders to support the team production schedule.
  • Receipt of internally produced items into stock, including spot checks for expected documentation.
  • Assistance with inspection and creation of photographic records for ‘finished goods’ items before receipt
  • Support the creation and completion of First Article Inspection Reports where required.

General stores and inventory management

  • Maintain a safe working environment within the Stores areas and all current Health and Safety legislation is observed; including basic “house-keeping”.
  • Utilise ‘SAP B1’ ERP software effectively to maintain accurate stock levels and material traceability.
  • Manage the layout and utilisation of stores to maximise capacity and throughput.
  • Coordinate stock counts and reconciliation against inventory.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of operational procedures to achieve consistency of output, improve efficiency, and reduce waste.
  • Participate in process audits to drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to contribute to the company’s strategic goals and objectives.

 

Skills Required:

  • Computer Literate with knowledge of stock handling systems.
  • Experience of working with an ERP system.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving boxes of stock around by hand.
  • Experience of working with couriers and shipping agents.
  • Knowledge of IPC A-610/IPC WHMA-A-620 would be advantageous.
  • Possess good numeracy and literacy skills.
  •

This job is based in Newport, Isle of Wight 

Candidates will need proof of their right to work in the UK (must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 5 years).
