LCM Systems have recently been acquired in 2023 by Interface, Inc., a high accuracy load cell manufacturer based in the USA, who are committed to investing in the continued expansion of LCM Systems as their European hub.
The Role
We are currently seeking a Dynamic & Versatile Mechanical Design Engineer to join our expanding engineering team to support ongoing investment and growth of Design & Engineering at LCM Systems.
The role is office based with some flexible working hours, location Newport Business Park, Barry Way, Newport, Isle of Wight.
Responsibilities
- Design custom products to meet our customers’ requirements.
- Validate designs using calculations and finite element analysis.
- Produce 2D drawings and 3D files to send for customer approval.
- Produce detailed 2D drawings and bill of materials for machining and manufacture.
- Provide technical support to customers and other departments within the business.
Requirements
- A recognised technical qualification.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software.
- Knowledge of maeials and manufacturing processes.
- Strong verbal communication skills, able to support customers, sales, production, quaity and suppliers for any technical issues.
Advantageous
Previous experience of load cells and strain gauge technology.
Minimum Experience/qualifications
Qualified to HNC / Degree level or higher in mechanical engineering.
