Job Description
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be required to perform all necessary quality related activities to ensure supplier quality such as analysing supplier performance data, perform periodic supplier visits where required, identifying opportunities for improvement and maintaining supplier quality throughout the delivery of a project. Assist our Quality inspectors investigating Production issues, liaising and if needed returning non-conforming components to our suppliers making sure a root cause analysis, containment and countermeasures have been implemented.
You will be required to communicate your findings to all levels of the business, to a high standard and show good understanding and use of quality methodologies. As part of the Quality department you will be required to perform Supplier visit reports, generate, monitor and close actions and maintain supplier scorecards.
Travel to new and existing suppliers will be required to assist the Quality Manager and or Procurement Lead to perform Supplier Audits, First article inspections and non-conformance investigations.
Responsibilities & Tasks
· Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure supplier compliance and product quality
· Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for improvement and waste reduction
· Lead problem solving sessions with multidisciplinary teams across the organisation
· Monitor and maintain supplier performance metrics to ensure production continuity and quality
· Conduct regular supplier audits to assess their quality control processes and compliance to product requirements
· Drive the development and implementation of preventative actions
· Develop and deliver training related to supplier quality to internal teams
· Investigate and formally report on high-profile supplier issues
· Maintain supplier quality documentation
· Support with the inspection of inbound and outbound goods when required
· Monitor organisational activates to ensure alignment with applicable statutory and regulatory legislation
Skills
Technical Skills
· Proven experience in a role with quality-based responsibilities
· Strong understanding of technical data such as engineering drawings and wiring schematics
· Strong understanding of principles and tools such as process mapping, statistical quality control, pareto, lean manufacturing, kaizen, 8D reporting and PPAP
· Ability to analyse quality data and metrics to identify areas of improvement
· Familiarity with the ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001 standards
· Experience in the manufacture of electromechanical assemblies
· Minimum 2 years’ experience auditing processes internally and or suppliers
· Strong PC and MS office skills

· Clear and professional communication skills to effectively convey technical findings to a range of internal and external stakeholders
· Ability to work constructively with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related challenges
· Self-directed with a strong sense of ownership for delivering timely and accurate outcomes

· Capable of facilitating collaborative problem-solving sessions to drive root cause identification and sustainable corrective actions
