MARINA AND FACILITIES OPERATIVE REQUIRED – RYDE.
Part time - Zero hours fixed term role – 4 months
JOB DESCRIPTION
Ryde Town Council require a part time Marina and Facilities Operative to work alongside the Marina and Facilities Management Teams to ensure the efficient and successful running of the business.
Physical Requirements
The post holder will be required to undertake a range of physical maintenance and facilities management duties. This includes regular walking, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying equipment and materials, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role requires the ability to perform manual handling activities safely and to undertake routine maintenance tasks across multiple sites. Reasonable adjustments will be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
Key duties and accountabilities of the staff
- To undertake reactive and planned maintenance to all council facilities and within the marina.
- To follow all Ryde Town Council procedures as instructed by their manager.
- To assist in berthing and vessel manoeuvring operations.
- To undertake daily sales and end of day cashing up operations.
- To complete general administrative duties such as record keeping, report writing, safety logs and book-keeping.
- To ensure Health and Safety regulations are adhered to within all council facilities.
- To provide excellent customer service and deal with general requests for information, assistance and/or complaints by customers and members of the public.
- Capable of working within a staff rota to ensure adequate daily cover. This includes weekends and holidays.
- To complete daily and regular inspections of the Marina’s area of responsibility and customer vessels and ensure that any defect or hazard is reported in accordance with line management requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to work weekends and some evenings.
Some out of hours and emergency cover maybe required when ‘on rota’.
