Criminology and Law Lecturer

Salary: £14948.50 - £17809.50, depending upon experience and qualifications 

Contract: 18.5 hours, part-time, permanent

Are you passionate about Criminology and Law and committed to helping young people achieve their ambitions? We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive lecturer to join our dedicated team, delivering inspiring teaching across our Level 3 Applied Law and Level 3 Forensic and Criminal Investigation programmes.

As well as delivering high-quality teaching, you'll contribute to curriculum development, bring current industry knowledge into the classroom, and work closely with colleagues to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

• Has strong subject knowledge in Criminology and/or Law. 

• Is passionate about delivering engaging, inclusive and inspiring learning.

• Is committed to developing an industry-relevant curriculum that prepares students for their next steps.

Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching and Learning: Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons to a variety of classes, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience.

• Assessment and Feedback: Monitor student progress through ongoing formative assessment, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement and development.

• Formal Assessment and Quality Assurance: Conduct formal assessments, provide written and verbal feedback, and carry out Internal Verification activities as required.

• Student Support: Act as an academic tutor, providing one-to-one support to students experiencing academic challenges.

• Enrichment Activities: Organise and participate in extracurricular activities, including trips, social events, and sports activities.

• College and Departmental Engagement: Attend and contribute to departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and college-wide training events.

• Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Administration: Complete all associated administrative tasks accurately, on time, and to the required standard.
