Are you passionate about making a difference in your community and helping households stay warm and energy-efficient?
Green Isle of Wight CIC is looking for a part-time Home Energy Advisor to support our growing programme of energy essentials packs and home visits.
About the Role
· You will carry out in-home energy visits to households across the Isle of Wight. Visits may include:
· Assessing the home for energy efficiency
· Giving practical, tailored advice on saving energy and reducing bills
· Installing small energy-saving items (e.g. radiator reflectors, draught excluders)
· Signposting to support schemes (ECO4, GBIS, Fairer Warmth, etc.)
· Supporting eligibility checks and completing visit records
Don’t worry if you’re not a qualified energy advisor — full training will be provided. This role would suit someone with a practical and empathetic approach, strong communication skills, and a desire to support vulnerable households.
What We’re Looking For
· A full clean driving licence and your own vehicle (some clients live in rural areas)
· Confidence visiting people in their homes
· Good attention to detail and record-keeping
· Flexibility to work varying hours depending on bookings (approx. 10 hrs/week)
· Basic IT skills (filling in forms, using apps)
· A DBS check will be required
Experience in energy advice, housing, care work, or community support is helpful but not essential.
Contract & Future Opportunity
This is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2026. We hope to extend the role depending on future projects and funding.
