The Isle of Wight College is expanding its STEM provision, and we’re looking for a passionate and engaging Science Lecturer to be part of this exciting journey. From Forensic & Criminal Investigation to Applied Science, GCSE Biology, Criminology, and supporting our Health & Social Care T Level, you’ll play a key role in bringing science to life for our learners.

About the role

You’ll deliver high-quality, interactive lessons across a variety of Science programmes, helping students build strong knowledge, practical skills and confidence. Whether you’re guiding a forensic investigation scenario, supporting GCSE learners, or linking science to real-world health contexts—you’ll make learning relevant, exciting and impactful.

You’ll plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess and track student progress, provide meaningful feedback, and support learners through tutorials and academic development. You’ll also contribute to internal verification, take part in enrichment activities, and work closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure an excellent student experience.

We’re looking for someone who:

Brings energy, creativity and passion to teaching Science

Can engage and motivate learners across 16–19 and adult provision

Has strong subject knowledge and a commitment to high standards

Enjoys working collaboratively and supporting student success

Is organised, proactive and keen to contribute to a growing curriculum area

Qualifications & experience

Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE grade A–C or equivalent), or willingness to achieve during probation (Essential)

Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (Essential)

Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards within 3 years) (Essential)

Degree/HND or equivalent in Criminology or Forensic Science (Desirable)
