At Trusted Homecare, we believe great care starts with caring for the people who provide it. We are an independent, Island based homecare provider. We are a small team with a big belief that our Caregivers deserve the same thought, kindness and respect that they give to our clients. After all, we could not provide the care we would want for our own loved ones without a brilliant team behind us. And that’s where you come in!
Could you be one of our Trusted Caregivers?
You don’t need to be the next Jamie Oliver, a professional entertainer or an expert in engineering. Although, if you can make a decent cuppa and enjoy a good natter, you’re already off to a flying start! We’re looking for caring, reliable people with a good sense of humour and a genuine desire to make a difference to someone’s day.
We currently have part-time opportunities in Shanklin and the surrounding areas, as well as Ryde and across the East Wight, with around 16 – 25 hours per week available.
We have a particular need for Caregivers who can start at 8 am, or work evenings. There’s a variety of hours available, so we’ll have a chat about what works for you.
So, what does being a Caregiver actually involve?
It’s about helping people live the lives they want to live, in the comfort of their own homes. One day, you might be helping someone get ready for the day ahead. Another, you could be, preparing a meal, popping out for shopping or enjoying a slice of cake at the garden centre, helping them settle in for the evening
No two clients are the same, and that’s exactly how we like it.
We encourage visits of 45 minutes or longer because good care should not feel like a race against the clock. We want you to have time to get to know your clients, build trusting relationships and make those little moments count. Sometimes it’s practical help that makes the difference. Sometimes it’s companionship, a friendly face or simply having someone who really listens.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for individuals who:
- Have compassion, patience and a genuine interest in helping others.
- Can bring a little humour and positivity to someone’s day.
- Want to finish their shift thinking, “I’ve made a difference today.”
- Have a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Our clients enjoy getting out and about, so being able to drive is essential for this role.
You will also need the right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.
Previous care experience isn’t the whole story however we are looking for dedicated, compassionate and reliable people. We will provide the training you need, and our management team will be there to support you along the way. You won’t be expected to know everything on day one, that’s what training and teamwork are for!
What’s in it for you?
We know that caring is rewarding, but it’s also important that you’re properly paid, supported and appreciated.
Here’s what you can expect when you join Trusted Homecare:
- £13.30 per hour on weekdays
- £14.30 per hour at weekends
- Bank holidays paid at time and a half, with festive bank holidays paid at double time
- Paid travel time and mileage, because travelling between clients is part of your working day, and we don’t believe your pay should have to cover it!
- No split shifts unless you choose them, we want you to have a life outside work, too.
- Every other weekend working, helping clients see familiar faces while giving you time for yourself.
- Casual work attire, helping create a relaxed, friendly and approachable experience for our clients.
- Employee Assistance Programme, including access to high street discounts, counselling services and other perks.
We offer a range of morning and evening hours, with opportunities to find a working pattern that suits you.
Why Trusted Homecare?
Because we believe good care is about people, not ticking boxes. We want our clients to feel comfortable, respected and supported.
We want our Caregivers to feel valued, listened to and confident in the work they do. And we know that sometimes the smallest things, remembering how someone likes their tea, sharing a laugh or taking the time to listen can make the biggest difference.
You don’t need to decide over a cup of tea just yet, but we’d love to have a chat!
