An exciting opportunity has arisen within Planning Services for an Arboricultural Officer. The Isle of Wight Council wants to grow its capacity when it comes to positively managing trees and influencing planning decisions. It is looking for a positive, knowledgeable individual who is keen to work as part of a team.

The Planning Arboricultural Officer role will support the Senior Planning Arboricultural Officer in determining tree works and tree preservation order applications and commenting on planning applications.

This post comes at an important time, with an emerging new local plan, a Climate & Environment Strategy, a Local Nature Recovery Strategy and the opportunities that biodiversity net gain offers. Never before have trees been more important to us, our communities and our wildlife, and this role will be fundamental in managing and protecting trees on our beautiful Island.
