Charity Shop Manager – Friends of the Animals

Location: Newport. Full-time

About the Role

Friends of the Animals is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and commercially minded Charity Shop Manager to lead our largest retail location. This role is perfect for someone who loves animals, thrives in a busy retail environment, and enjoys inspiring a team to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the shop, ensuring a welcoming and well-organised environment
• Lead, support, and motivate a diverse team of staff and volunteers
• Maximise sales and donations through creative merchandising and excellent customer service
• Manage stock flow, pricing, and shop presentation
• Ensure compliance with all charity retail policies, health and safety standards, and financial procedures
• Build strong relationships with donors, customers, and the local community to promote the charity’s mission

About You

• Experience in retail or charity shop management VITAL, recognition of brands and with the knowledge to spot items of value.
• A people-person with strong leadership and communication skills
• A positive, hands-on attitude and the ability to multitask is essential.
• Passionate about animal welfare and the work of Friends of the Animals
