 1 x 37 hours per week

1 x 30 hours per week

This is a dynamic role supporting individuals and helping them have independence through strength-based care and collaborative planning

As an Enhanced Social Work Assistant, you will:

  • Work closely with individuals, helping them transition back to independent living.
  • Conduct strength-based assessments and care planning that promote autonomy, choice, and dignity.
  • Support carers and family members, offering advice, guidance, and Carers Assessments in line with the Care Act 2014.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and departmental recording policies to maintain high standards of care.

This role will allow you to work in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering high-quality care that puts people first.   You will enjoy a varied and agile working role that allows you to build meaningful relationships and shape positive outcomes for individuals and their families.  You will be a dedicated professional who will join a rota to help provide vital emergency and crisis support to Island residents outside of core business hours. In this role, you’ll also mentor and coach newly qualified and junior staff, helping them grow and develop their expertise. As a trusted point of escalation, you’ll share your knowledge and experience to guide other Social Work Assistants across the department, supporting career progression and professional development. Additionally, you’ll take the lead in reflective practice sessions, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team. What we are looking for:

  • Passionate individuals who are committed to improving lives through person-centred care.

  • Strong communicators who can work collaboratively with healthcare teams, families and the wider community.

  • Have an NVQ3 in Care or equivalent qualification or demonstratable experience in the care sector (working with vulnerable adults in a senior position within a registered provider setting or day care) or equivalent experience.

  • A proactive and confident approach to problem-solving, with an understanding of The Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Human Rights Act and Data Protection Act.

  • The role involves travel all over the Island. Being able to drive and access to own vehicle is essential.
